Acer Swift 3 review: an inexpensive metal laptop for work and study

Top flagship ultrabooks are certainly interesting, but not everyone can afford it and sometimes it is worth paying attention to more affordable workhorses with an adequate price-performance ratio. One of these models is Acer Swift 3, which came to our office. This is the second generation. The first one passed by our editors, so I won’t compare it with its predecessor, but given that Swift 5 different generations are very different from each other, I think that the situation is similar with Acer Swift 3.

What is this?

Acer Swift 3 is a laptop with a 14" 1920×1080 IPS display, 7th or 8th Gen Intel Core processor, 8GB RAM, SSD, https://ha.benq.com.ng/page-masu-aiki-game-da-salon-gyara-gashi-da-sabis metal chassis and backlit keyboard.

Why is it interesting?

In terms of filling, Acer Swift 3 is a typical representative of the class of modern ultrabooks: ultrabook Intel Core processors with the U prefix at the end are installed inside. Interestingly, we have a configuration with an Intel Core i5-7200U in our review, but options with new 8th generation quad-core processors have already gone on sale. The amount of RAM is 8 GB, and an SSD is used as a drive, in our case 256 GB. It’s all packed in a metal case, albeit not the thinnest and lightest, but with all the necessary ports. Plus, a 14-inch 1920×1080 IPS screen is installed, there is a fingerprint scanner, a backlit keyboard, and it all costs quite adequate money.

What’s included?

The laptop comes in a simple orange cardboard box. Nothing special inside, standard set: laptop, compact charger and documentation:

What does it look like and is it of good quality?

The laptop is completely made of metal: this includes the top, bottom covers, and work surface. This is not the so-called Unibody case, as in top models: there are joints, but everything is done neatly. The work surface and the top cover have a textured surface that does not collect fingerprints too actively:
